Garage doors built for daily commercial use
A commercial garage door works differently than a residential one. It opens and closes more often — sometimes dozens of times a day. The hardware carries heavier loads. When it goes down, the cost is not inconvenience; it is a work stoppage.
Palmerton Garage Door II LLC has been handling commercial garage door jobs in Carbon County since 1991. Warehouses, auto dealerships, municipal buildings, service bays, and storage facilities. Ryan Bruch does the work and knows what commercial-grade hardware looks like compared to what some outfits install on commercial openings using residential components.
What we install for commercial applications
Sectional commercial doors The sectional door is the standard for most light-to-medium commercial applications — auto shops, small warehouses, storage units, commercial garages. They open vertically and store overhead, which keeps the door out of the way of forklifts, vehicles, and foot traffic. Available with or without insulation, in steel or aluminum, with or without vision panels.
Rolling steel doors For high-cycle applications or openings where ceiling clearance is limited, rolling steel is the right choice. Rolling steel doors coil into a drum above the opening rather than tracking back in sections. They are standard on loading docks, commercial storefronts, and buildings with steel structures and limited overhead space.
Service doors (personnel doors) Walk-through doors set into or beside a commercial overhead door opening. Common in warehouses and service bays where employees need to move in and out without cycling the main door.
Fire-rated doors Some commercial occupancies require fire-rated overhead doors at specific openings. We can discuss what your building requires — we do not fabricate fire doors on site, but we install and service rated assemblies.
High-cycle hardware Commercial doors in high-use applications need hardware rated for the cycle count. A residential spring rated at 10,000 cycles will fail much faster on a door that opens 30 times a day. We spec hardware appropriate to the actual use.
Service and maintenance for commercial doors
Commercial doors that fail during business hours are a different category of problem than a residential door that will not open on a Saturday morning. If your service bay door, loading dock door, or warehouse door is down, call (610) 826-2400. We will tell you honestly what the response time looks like and what parts we have on hand.
Preventive maintenance is the better path. A commercial door that is lubricated, balanced, and inspected twice a year fails far less often than one that gets serviced only when something breaks. Ryan can work around your schedule to minimize disruption.
What a commercial service call covers:
- Spring inspection and tension check (commercial torsion springs carry serious load — a worn spring is a safety issue)
- Cable and drum inspection
- Track alignment and hardware tightening
- Lubrication of moving components
- Opener function test and limit adjustment
- Full operational check before we leave
Who we work with
We have done commercial work for a range of property types in Carbon County and the surrounding area. If you manage or own any of the following, call and tell us what you have:
- Auto repair shops and dealerships
- Small to mid-size warehouses and distribution buildings
- Municipal maintenance bays and public works facilities
- Storage facilities
- Industrial and light manufacturing buildings
- Commercial properties with multiple overhead door openings
We are a local operation — not a franchise running a large crew across three counties. That means Ryan is typically on your job personally, and when you call with a question, you talk to the same person who did the installation.

Commercial jobs vary too widely to quote without seeing the opening, the door type, the hardware configuration, and the use case. Call (610) 826-2400 or email ryan@palmertongarage.com with a description of what you have and what you need. For multi-door properties or new construction, we will schedule a site visit and give you a written quote.
