The story
Ryan Bruch started Palmerton Garage Door over 30 years ago in Carbon County, and has been operating out of 3785 Forest Inn Road in Palmerton ever since. In the years since, he has installed and serviced garage doors for homeowners across Palmerton, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Nesquehoning, Lansford, Kunkletown, Walnutport, Slatington, and the towns in between.
The work has ranged from the quick fix — a broken spring on a Monday morning when someone is trying to get to work — to the kind of job that changes how a house looks from the street. Kelly Strauch came in to replace three plain white utility doors. She left with three mahogany carriage doors. Robert Breiner Jr. had doors Ryan installed 19 years prior. When a car drove through one of them, he called at 9:30 on a Friday morning. Someone was there by afternoon.
Both of those outcomes — fast response on an emergency and quality installation that holds up for decades — are what the business is built around.
The award
In 2019, the Times News began its Reader's Choice awards program for Carbon County businesses. Palmerton Garage Door II LLC has won the Best Garage Door Company category every year since the program started — seven consecutive years through 2025.
